Anime Review: Cowboy Bebop

**Submitted by Jesse

My absolute favorite when it comes to anime.  Engaging characters, loads of style, great settings, cutting comedy, and fast action make this series sit atop all the rest.  Follow bnounty Hunters Spike adn Jet as they travel through a future space in a beat up ship looking to make just enough money to survive.  Throughout their journey, these grifters pick up more companions (complete with their own shady pasts) such as the stubborn Faye, hacker Ed, and genetically altered dog Ein.  The 26 episode series follows a basic storyline which slowly pieces together the puzzle that is each characters past.  Cowboy Bebop does have many side stories however, which often allow the series to emply a different style such as the hilarious "mushroom samba" or "Toys in the Attic."  But although Cowboy Bebop does have a sense of humor, when it's serious, it's deeply serious.  No movie, book, or other media has made me cry, but I seriously came damn close to it from watching this series.

Cowboy Bebop is given my absolute highest praise, it doesn't even seem animated, and after watching all 26 episodes in both Japanese and English, as well as the OVA movie, it's safe to say this series will take over your life.
